Lions Welcome Address

Buenas yan Hafa Adai! Today marks the fruition of a call to start a Lions Club. Lion Simon from Malaysia challenged the involvement with Special Olympics. The Lions Clubs International Convention highlights a Special Olympics activities followed by Recognition & Awards. This brought many thoughts of a variety of ways in servicing our community, the youth, those with special needs. To seek out those with the desire and passion takes on qualities and genuine heart. Tonight is a special celebration because the ladies and gentle here before you answered that call to extend of themselves in service .. Welcome to the GUÅHAN ISAN FAMAGU’ON LIONS CLUB #135033 Charter Night.
INAUGURAL ADDRESS
Magof Pupuenge! Yes, the Lions Club is a world-wide organization who answers the call of humanitarian needs from vision screening to catastrophes of natures might. The motto: WE SERVE is offered in various voluntary ways - the service challenges: DIABETES, ENVIRONMENT, PEDIATRIC CANCER, YOUTH and VISION; contributing to the Lions Clubs International Foundation, however it may be to reach out to the communities in need.
The youngest, more like the baby Club for this Centennial Lion Year July 1st, 2017 – June 30th, 2018, we have 1 more week to meet the service challenges set forth. We’ve done Hunger Relief this past Sunday. I challenge you to complete the other 4. How? For Children’s Cancer .. donate children’s books, stuff toys and present it to the Pediatric Ward at the Hospital / Vision .. a collection drive of eyeglasses and donate it to LCI / Caring for the Environment .. clean up along a park or beachside / Diabetes .. collect reading materials like magazines, catalogues, books and donate them to a Renal Care Center. The dream will be to see a facility for children with Special Needs to be able to enjoy themselves in ways ‘normal’ kids do .. be in a water park that addresses their every need.
There’s certainly many ways that individual members and the Club are recognized and awarded for their services. The online website: www.lionsclubs.org is filled with vast information in all that we can learn about Lionism. Immerse yourself, find yourself in the pages, be encouraged at what others do and be involved .. at the Club level, District Level and International. The Convention this year is hosted in Las Vegas Neveda – June 30th, to July 3rd. This annual event will bring you in awe at the people from around the world together all with the same purpose. Next year the Convention will be held in Milan, Italy – that’s a year to plan. July 1st starts the new Lion Year and with what’s lies ahead, we will strive the best we can. Where There’s A Need There’s A Lion.
The GIFLC starts with 25 Centennial Charter members and we grow as we ROAR .. Reach Out And Recruit.
