The Diabetes Alert Day Drive-Thru Mini Fair & Wave held on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Paseo De Susana was a success. Si Yu'os Ma'ase' to the Guam Diabetes Control Coalition in collaboration with District 204 Lions Clubs international, Guam Diabetes Association, The Diabetes Foundation of Guam, and the Department of Public Health and Social Services for providing FREE diabetes risk assessment, counseling, and more!
Biba Mes CHamoru! 🌴🎉 The D204 Lions Club CHamoru Saturday Story Hour, in partnership with the Guam Public Library, the Guam Council of the International Literacy Association, and the GDOE CHamoru Studies and Special Projects Division, which was held March 12, 2022, via Zoom, was filled with the love of reading and celebration for CHamoru Month! It was also dedicated to Lion Daisy Guzman Ramirez+, 1st Vice-President, Guahan Isan Famagu'on Lions Club. Si Yu'os Ma'ase' to Sinot Jimmy Santos Teria, Lion Tina Alam, RC1 Lion Ewy Taitano, Lion Julie Garcia with her students Ronin Tapao, Keelin Presto, & Xavier Rapolla, Therese Atalig, and Joreen Cruz, for their meaningful Read Alouds. Familiar CHamoru songs, such as Hafa Adai, O'Asaina, Pues Adios Esta Ki, etc. were also sung. We further thank our amazing audience of children and their families, as well as IPDG Sumie Kuba, Lion Prexy Patti Quichocho/GIFLC, Guam Public Library System Director Kris Seerengan, Lion Mae Mendiola, Lion Lois Gumataotao, Lion Stephanie Aguon, Lion Nilfa Milan, Lino Yvonne Toves, Sister Cabrini, Officers, Leos, and Cubs, for joining us during our D204 Lions Club CHamoru Saturday Story Hour! Kudos to the GDOE CHamoru Studies and Special Projects Division, Guam International Literacy Association, Lion Lois Gumataotao, PDG Monito, and Sylvia Taylor, for their generous donations! Congratulations to the winners of the CHamoru books and various prizes that were given out to those who correctly answered questions relating to the stories!
